What is agriGHALA?

agriGHALA is a certified warehouse service powered by agriBORA. It allows you to store your maize safely, get a warehouse receipt, access cash if needed, and sell later when prices are better.

Who certifies agriGHALA?

We are:

  • WRS-certified by the County Government.

  • Registered with the Warehouse Receipt Council of Kenya (WRSC).

What is a warehouse receipt?

A legal document you receive after depositing your grain.

  • Proves you are the owner.

  • Confirms quality and quantity of commodity stored.

  • Can be used to get a loan from banks or SACCOs.

  • Lets you sell later when prices are better.

What crops can I store?

Only grains:

  • Maize 🌽

  • Beans 🫘

  • Wheat 🌾

  • Sorghum 🌱
    ❌ No perishable crops (bananas, potatoes, vegetables, fruits).

Where is the warehouse?

Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

What is the minimum deposit?

20 bags of 90kg each.

How long can I store my grain?

Up to 12 months.

How safe is my grain?

  • Clean, pest-free certified warehouse.

  • Quality checks & grading at intake.

  • Insurance and physical security.

  • Warehouse staff record each bag under your name.

Do I need to prepare my maize before bringing it?

  1. Yes ✅:

  • Dry to <13% moisture.

  • Use clean sisal or poly bags (no torn bags).

  • Clearly label your bags with your name.

Is transport to the warehouse available?

  • Free transport for ≥20 bags during pre-booking campaigns (smallholders).

  • Discounted bulk logistics for cooperatives and large depositors.

Can I book space before harvest?

  • ✅ Yes. Pre-booking guarantees space and may include free transport or promotions.

What if my grain spoils in storage?

  • Professional storage + insurance protect against loss.
  • If major damage occurs, insurance covers depositors.

How much does it cost?

  • Intake fee: KES 175 per 90kg bag

  • Storage fee: KES 46 per bag/month

  • Discharge fee: KES 36 per bag (when removing stock)

Can I access cash before selling?

✅ Yes. Use your warehouse receipt to apply for a loan from finance partners for school fees, inputs, or emergencies.

Do you link me to buyers?

✅ Yes. agriBORA connects depositors to trusted buyers so you can sell at the right time and price.

How will I know market prices?

  • Weekly price alerts via WhatsApp & Facebook.

  • You’ll receive a “Sell Now” notification when prices rise.

What if I have less than 20 bags?

We only accept 20+ bags, but you can:

  • Join a group deposit through your local cooperative.

  • Get on the waitlist for next season.

How do I book?

Reply to our WhatsApp message.
Share: Name, County, Ward, Crop, Number of Bags, Harvest Date.
You’ll receive confirmation and intake details.

What if I change my mind?

You can cancel your booking anytime. Intake fees apply only when grain is deposited  not before.
